Family and Domestic Violence: A Pest to Development

0

I was born in a village, where love took root,

A child of loving family, where care bears fruit.

Across the city, another child thrives,

In homes full of warmth, where compassion survives.

But where did we falter, where did we stray?

When did love fade, and kindness decay?

Once, in our hearts, it had space to grow,

Now shadows of violence eclipse that glow.

Do we need the leaders, with voices so strong,

To guide us back to where we all belong?

Or parents to nurture, with values to share,

To teach us that love must be handled with care?

For family should flourish, a haven, a shield,

Not a battleground where wounds are revealed.

Let us rise together, let our voices unite,

Against the pest that dims love’s brilliant light.

We must mend the fabric that binds us as one,

Embrace our responsibility until the work is done.

In every small action, let compassion ignite,

For a world free of violence is our shared right.
