Kayokoh Foundation Hosts Annual Picnic to Support the Needy

Kayokoh Givers Support Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a mission to serve underprivileged individuals, people living with disabilities, and the elderly. Founded by Madam Millicent Conteh in honor of her late father, who was deeply passionate about uplifting these marginalized groups, the organization works relentlessly to extend support and bring joy to those in need. The foundation’s guiding motto, “Lend a Hand and Bring a Smile to the Needy,” echoes the organization’s commitment to societal service and care for the less fortunate.

The name “Kayokoh” is derived from the village of Kayokoh in Koinadugu District, Sierra Leone, a place of deep personal significance to Madam Conteh’s late father, from whom she drew inspiration. Her father’s lifelong dream was to provide a helping hand to those who suffered from poverty, disability, and age-related hardships. His compassion for those in need was especially evident during his interactions with people living with disabilities. After his untimely passing due to cancer, Madam Conteh took it upon herself to continue his legacy by founding the Kayokoh Givers Support Foundation, not only in Sierra Leone but with a vision to impact lives globally.

Kayokoh Givers Support Foundation stands for compassion, service, and empowerment. Its mission is to offer practical assistance through charity events, activities, and awareness campaigns aimed at improving the quality of life for the less fortunate. The foundation’s motto speaks to its ethos of kindness: “Lend a Hand and Bring a Smile to the Needy,” focusing on alleviating hardship through concrete acts of generosity. The organization is financed by Madam Conteh and a network of other compassionate donors who share her vision.

In keeping with its yearly tradition, Kayokoh Givers Support Foundation is organizing its annual picnic in Lunsar Town on January 11, 2025, starting at 5 PM. This event will bring together those in need, including the elderly and individuals with disabilities, for a day filled with care, joy, and learning activities. The organization will provide food, entertainment, and other activities designed to engage and uplift the less fortunate in the Port Loko District.

The picnic is more than just a social gathering it serves as a vital opportunity for the foundation to distribute food, clothing, and other essentials while fostering a sense of community among those who may feel isolated due to their circumstances. In addition to the physical aid, there will be educational activities aimed at enhancing the skills of participants, ensuring the event also has a long-term impact on their personal growth.

The upcoming picnic is a vital initiative for the foundation, and while it is largely supported by Madam Conteh’s personal funding, the organization relies on the support of donors who share in its vision of a more compassionate world. Through community involvement and financial contributions, the Kayokoh Givers Support Foundation continues to make strides toward its ultimate goal of creating a society where everyone, regardless of their economic or physical condition, is treated with dignity and love.

With a deep-rooted history of selflessness and a passionate commitment to social change, Kayokoh Givers Support Foundation’s annual picnic represents much more than just an event; it is a testament to the enduring legacy of Madam Conteh’s late father and her personal dedication to improving the lives of others. As the date for this year’s picnic draws near, the organization encourages all those who can to join hands in making this event a success and to bring a smile to the faces of the less privileged.
