SLPP Govt’s Allegations Disproven…

ICASL Clears Former Auditor-General and Deputy

By The Reformer Team

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sierra Leone (ICASL) has officially cleared Mrs. Lara Taylor-Pearce, former Auditor-General of Sierra Leone, and Mr. Tamba Momoh, former Deputy Auditor-General, of any misconduct during their time at Audit Service Sierra Leone. This development counters previous allegations brought against them under the SLPP government.

According to the ICASL’s Investigation Committee Report, both officials acted with integrity, adhering to international auditing standards and prioritizing public interest throughout their tenure. The report highlighted that neither Mrs. Taylor-Pearce nor Mr. Momoh breached any professional or ethical standards as outlined in the ICASL Code of Ethics and the guidelines of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSSAI).

“There were no instances of professional misconduct or ethical breaches,” the report stated, clearing both individuals of any alleged wrongdoing.

The ICASL’s investigation reaffirms that Mrs. Taylor-Pearce and Mr. Momoh upheld the high standards expected of Chartered and Certified Accountants, allowing them to continue their professional careers with restored reputations. This finding strengthens their standing in Sierra Leone’s auditing community and casts doubt on the basis of the SLPP government’s previous claims.
