SLPP MP Hails President Bio’s ‘Feed Salone Project’ as Historic
By Benjamin S Conteh
The SLPP Member of Parliament Hon. Jibrilla Sow Moijueh, representing Bonthe District, has praised President Bio’s leadership, calling the “Feed Salone Project” the most ambitious agricultural initiative in Sierra Leone’s history.
“President Bio is committed to the ‘Feed Salone Project,’ which represents the largest agricultural effort Sierra Leone has ever experienced,” Hon. Moijueh assured fellow Members of Parliament and the people of Sierra Leone.
Hon. Moijueh made these remarks on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in the Well of Parliament during the fourth day of debate on the President’s state address, delivered in August 2024. He emphasized that the government of the SLPP, under President Bio, is firmly dedicated to realizing the goals of the “Feed Salone Project.”
Responding to a statement by an opposition MP from Bombali District, Hon. Moijueh clarified that, contrary to claims that “Feed Salone” had been promised for six years without results, the project was only launched last year in Pujehun District. He added that Sierra Leoneans can already attest to the project’s scale and significance in boosting agricultural productivity.
Hon. Moijueh also expressed disappointment with opposition MPs who doubted the project’s potential success, urging them to consider the broader national impact of their skepticism. He warned that if the “Feed Salone Project” fails, the consequences would affect not only the government or Bonthe District but also all Sierra Leoneans across the country’s four regions.
In closing, Hon. Moijueh called on all Members of Parliament both ruling and opposition as well as citizens, to adopt a spirit of nationalism. He stressed that unity and collective effort are essential if Sierra Leone is to achieve sustainable progress, urging his colleagues and citizens to support initiatives that strengthen “Mama Salone.”
