School Going Pupil Conducted School Learning Visit At CTC Mining Site In Port Loko

On Saturday 25th October 2025, school going pupils from various Primary and Secondary schools in Freetown Conducted a school Learning Visit at CTC Mining site in port Loko district.
Upon arrival at the site, the Chief Operation Officer of CTC Mining TAREK NAHLE welcome the visiting students and teachers to their camp office.


TAREK NAHLE said the company is happy because it is the first time that school going pupils are visiting their site and they hope to continue such move
He said his is the least they can do as a mining company, to the new generation to show appreciation so they are glad that the students went there for school learning visit to the CTC mining site in Pork Loko District.
He thank all those participants including the Ministry of Mines, NMA, the teachers and the students in this very important occasion.


During the induction, Victor Margai the HSE Manager CTC mining company, welcome all and said that they are happy and excited to host the students and other participants to their mining site.
He said that their mining site is a special place were raw materials like Bauxite is derive from for manufacturing purposes. He said that CTC mining SL Limited, the mine Bauxite and Bauxite is the mineral from which alliminun is derive. He said that alliminun is a material that is use for various sector. He said that in the transport sector alliminun is used for the manufacturing of body frames panels of road transport vehicles.
He said that Bauxite is a very important materials that they mine and it’s keep all of this companies functioning.
He went on that it is also necessary that as they conduct mining they conduct it safely.
He added that safety is basically of being free from any harm on the job site or at home that you are free from any injury that compromised your health or welcome being.


He added that they conduct mines site induction for every new visitor they have alongside employees and contractors so that all will be aware about safety in the work place.
Victor Margai further that this is their maiden school community day as this is the first time they are hosting students at their operational site.


He stressed that the kids are the future leaders of tomorrow and that their is possibility among them for some to be President or First Lady of the country.


He informed everyone how they should protect themselves and go through instructions to be safe.
An Offer Letter was presented to the students by the Chief Operation Officer of CTC which states that the company recognize the students outstanding participation during the 2025 Mining week & Exhibition.
And also acknowledge your outstanding participation and enthusiasm during the site visit.
