The Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security has issued a stern warning to the public about two unauthorized agencies
Tau Holdings Recruitment & Travel Agency and Malador Traveling Agency
accused of luring Sierra Leoneans with fraudulent overseas job offers.

In a press release dated Tuesday, 9th September 2025, the Ministry revealed that the agencies have been advertising employment opportunities in Dubai for bike riders, carpenters, welders, and housekeepers on social media. However, neither agency is licensed or authorized to conduct overseas recruitment in Sierra Leone.

According to the Ministry, such activities directly violate the Overseas Employment and Migrant Workers Act No. 12 of 2023, which regulates foreign employment recruitment to ensure safe, orderly, and legal migration.

“For several years, the Ministry has only licensed agencies that meet the strict requirements for overseas recruitment,” the statement noted.

Citizens were strongly cautioned against engaging with the two agencies, with the Ministry stressing that anyone who ignores this advisory does so at their own risk. The public was further reminded to always verify recruitment licenses directly with the Ministry before entering into any employment arrangements abroad.

The statement concluded with a firm warning that the full force of the law will be applied to any individuals or institutions found exploiting or defrauding Sierra Leoneans seeking legitimate job opportunities overseas.
