Moeba FC Launches Squad, Jerseys for Community Leagues

With excitement building for two of the most anticipated inter-community football tournaments in Freetown, Moeba Community Football Club officially unveiled their squad and new jerseys on August 24, 2025. The ceremony, held at the Moeba Community Playing Field (popularly known as the Borrowed Pit), came just days before their opening matches in the Central Football Association (COFA) and Phanzo Inter-Community Leagues at the Attouga Mini Stadium.
Head Coach Abubakarr Sesay expressed gratitude to the newly elected executive committee, players, supporters, and community members for their tireless contributions in preparing the team. He noted that with the talent and determination in the squad, Moeba FC is well-positioned to bring pride and silverware to the community.
He urged fans to rally behind the players in full force, especially in their opening fixture of the 2025/2026 season, promising that the team would play with “heart, soul, and determination.” Sesay also reassured supporters that lessons had been learned from last season, when Moeba FC was disqualified from the COFA semi-finals due to crowd violence. This time, he emphasized, discipline on and off the pitch will be a top priority.
During the ceremony, players and the team captain were introduced to the community, reaffirming their commitment to representing Moeba with unity and passion. The head coach and community leaders called on residents to show stronger support than ever before as the team chased its first major trophy in the inter-community competitions.
As part of the unveiling, three sets of jerseys were showcased: the players’ kit, and supporters’ versions in white and yellow, priced at Le250 each. Community leaders, stakeholders, and executives also pledged financial contributions to bolster the team’s campaign.
Moeba FC, one of the debutants in this year’s competitions, is aiming to make a lasting mark with the ultimate goal of lifting their first-ever COFA or Phanzo trophy.
