Rokel Commercial Bank Expands Footprint with New Branch in Waterloo

Tuesday, 18th August 2025

Residents of Waterloo and surrounding communities no longer need to make the long and often challenging journey into Freetown to access essential banking services. Rokel Commercial Bank (RCBank) has officially opened a modern branch in the bustling Western Area Rural District headquarters, bringing much-needed financial access to one of Sierra Leone’s fastest-growing populations.

The new branch
commissioned today, 18th August 2025
marks a significant milestone in RCBank’s expansion drive and commitment to customer convenience. Many residents have described the development as a game-changer for an area where banking services have long been limited.

This comes less than a month after the Bank launched another branch at Cline Town in eastern Freetown, further cementing its reputation as the fastest-growing financial institution in Sierra Leone. Director of Banking Supervision, Sajoh Bah, hailed RCBank as a trailblazer in the country’s financial sector and urged the Waterloo community to support the Bank as a proudly indigenous institution.

Managing Director, Dr. Walton Ekundayo Gilpin, reaffirmed the Bank’s vision for growth and market dominance, stressing its people-centered approach. He encouraged residents to embrace RCBank as their own.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Bank’s Board Chairman, John Sumaila, board member Rev. Archer Campbell, representatives from the Armed Forces Training Center (AFTC), and officials from the Western Area Rural District Council.
