OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Reduction in Fuel Prices Leads to Revised Public Transport Fares Nationwide
The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, in collaboration with key stakeholders in the transport sector, wishes to inform the general public that following the recent reduction in the pump price of fuel from NLe 27 to NLe 25, a corresponding decrease in public transportation fares has been approved and implemented.

This adjustment affects both urban routes within Freetown and inter-district/provincial transport services. The revised fare structure has been developed in close consultation with transport unions, driver associations, and other sector stakeholders to ensure fairness and consistency across all regions.
All commercial transport operators are hereby instructed to adhere strictly to the new fares. Commuters are also encouraged to report any violations or overcharging to the relevant authorities.

Please find attached the updated fare list for your reference and immediate compliance.
The Ministry thanks the public for their cooperation and remains committed to ensuring an efficient and affordable transport system throughout Sierra Leone.
