The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially presented the 2025 National Primary School Examination (NPSE) results to the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, marking a significant milestone in this year’s academic calendar. Released on 17th July
almost a month earlier than last year’s 12th August release this timely delivery will help streamline secondary school placements and accelerate the academic transition process.

A total of 171,112 pupils were registered for the 2025 NPSE, comprising 88,494 girls and 82,618 boys an increase of over 6,000 candidates compared to last year. This year, 128,766 candidates (66,371 girls and 62,395 boys) scored at or above the national cutoff score of 230, resulting in a 78.2% overall pass rate. Boys slightly outperformed girls in pass rate percentage (78.5% vs. 77.9%), but more girls both participated in and passed the exam.

The highest score recorded an outstanding 346 T-score
was achieved by Mansaray Kadijah Yawa Joe of Dele Nursery & Preparatory School in Wellington. Warm congratulations to her on this exceptional performance.

Special recognition also goes to International College of Makeni Primary School, which achieved a perfect 100% pass rate and the highest average aggregate score of 332.39. Other top-performing schools include Romans International Academy, Modern Academy School of Excellence, Therenisa Memorial Primary School in Bo, and Shalom Ville Schools.
