Hon. Osman Timbo, Deputy Secretary General of the All People’s Congress (APC) and a member of Sierra Leone’s Sixth Parliament of the Second Republic, has formally resigned from his position, effective immediately, as of March 12, 2025.

Hon. Timbo cited his desire to explore new directions in his political career as the primary reason for stepping down. He emphasized that his decision was motivated by a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the APC Secretariat and ensuring a fair and level playing field ahead of the party’s internal elections.

He acknowledged that remaining in his role at this crucial time could potentially compromise the leadership’s objectives. By stepping aside, he aims to create space to focus on his next steps in politics while allowing the party to move forward without any perceived conflicts.

Expressing deep gratitude to the party leadership and its members, Hon. Timbo thanked them for their trust and support throughout his tenure. He described his time in the position as an opportunity to serve the APC and contribute meaningfully to its vision for Sierra Leone.

“Despite stepping down from my position, I want to reaffirm my unwavering loyalty to the APC and assure everyone that I will continue working towards the growth and success of the party,” he stated.

He further expressed his eagerness to collaborate with party leadership in different capacities as the APC works to strengthen its unity and vision for the country.

Hon. Timbo’s resignation marks the beginning of a new chapter in his political career. While he steps away from his current role, his influence and contributions to the party’s future remain highly anticipated.
